Experimental applications and drivers for BeOS 5 can be found here.
All of these files are unsupported and are considered experimental. Handle with care, and read the README files for detailed information.
Drivers
Experimental drivers include drivers for compact flash, Roland UA-100 audio and MIDI processor, basic USB speakers, and Ethernet PCI devices (DP83815, Realtek 8139, Accton EN503x, VIA vt86c100 chips and ISA 3Com 3c509B card).
Applications
Experimental applications include:
- World O' Networking (WON): World O' Networking (WON) is the BeOS interface for sharing files and
services over a network. If you're on a LAN (with 2 or more computers),
when you open WON it automatically "populates" your WON window and
gives you access to:
- File sharing through CIFS 1.0 (Common Internet File System).
This means Be users can now share files and resources
on Windows machines, and Unix machines running SAMBA.
- Printing for CIFS and AppleTalk. Because the print layer and
print panels are now network aware, it's easy to add a default
network printer.
- VideoRecorder: Video Recorder captures
video from a video capture board and writes it to an AVI or
Quicktime file.
